ABOUT
The WVMHC was founded in 1990 by a group of individuals, breeders and owners of miniature horses who share a common vision of promoting the American Miniature horse as a breed and improving that breed through registration and proper selection of breeding stock by evaluation of individual horses through competition at shows in front of quality judges as well as demonstrating the versatility of the American Miniature Horse by including a wide range of performance classes in shows such as; driving, jumping, halter obstacle and others.
Over these past years the WVMHC has sponsored five to six shows per year at various locations throughout the Ohio Valley as well as promoting 4 H events and participating in events such as WV Equine Awareness Day and the National Independence Celebration in Washington, DC, local parades, and County fairs.
Over the years the WVMHC as maintained its focus as a family oriented club geared to encouraging family membership and participation in shows and other activities such; picnics, educational clinics and of course our annual Christmas banquet. Our shows include activities for all ages and skill levels to provide every member of your family an opportunity to actively participate and compete from the youngest child to the more senior members as well as classes for special needs individuals. If you have family members who do not wish to compete but would like to be involved our club always needs individuals to help with tasks such as fund raising, advertising, writing stories for our newsletter, organizing events, keeping score and registering horses at shows, or taking pictures and videos at shows or other events. Whatever your talents our club can provide you with an opportunity to use them.
